Artist’s Statement

I could well be known as the multi-faceted artist because I work in so many different mediums and have varied creative interests. I am a painter, photographer and jewelry designer.

As a painter I work in oils as well as water color and colored pencils. More than anything I am drawn to vibrant colors and love to paint large flowers, catching a “moment in time” in the life of the blossoms. I love intricate detail, as well, even in the smallest leaf or flower that I find. I also enjoy creating still life scenes and angels. I strive to bring joy and inspiration through my art work. I find such fulfillment in producing something beautiful!

I began my photography by taking pictures for my paintings. As more and more of the pictures came out so beautifully, I had them printed on canvas and fell in love with the results. I hope you will too! My photos mainly focus on large flower blossoms or other intricate patterns in nature. Many of my digital prints on canvas are embellished with oil paint.

My love for jewelry has been a passion since I was a child and I often joked that I should have been a jewelry designer. Now I am! When I started beading to make a few pieces for myself, I was delighted by the limitless designs I could conceive and another creative endeavor was born. I specialize in natural stones such as turquoise, coral, lapis lazuli, amethyst, carnelian, jasper and many more. I also use pearls, glass beads and crystal. My pieces are all handmade right here in America! I especially love designing pieces with large stones but can make delicate pieces as well.

My education started out by taking painting classes for fun and quickly developed into so many hours I knew I had to make a degree out of it.
